There are only 6 packages remaining in unstable that have a dependency on the libgtk2.0-0png3 stub package. These are celestia, gimp-freetype, gkdebconf, libdianewcanvas2, libgtkgl2.0-1 and sinek (some of these package names seem familiar from when we were recompiling things to use libgtk2.0-0png3 when it was the real package! =).
If only for cosmetic reasons, it would be quite nice if they could be recompiled to use to use a newer libgtk2.0-0 dependency, and the stub package for libgtk2.0-0png3 could then be removed before it hits testing and has a chance of releasing with sarge. I have CC'd the maintainers of all these packages, and my offer is to NMU and rebuild these packages and set a build-depend on the post libgtk2.0-0 replacement version of libgtk2.0-dev. If you would like to take me up on this offer, please let me know, or just rebuild the packages yourself if you have a spare moment. Regards, Rob
