Yeah, but when will that happen?  Why didn't it happen before libpng10 was 
removed?  And furthermore, how should it be done?
There's some serious weirdness going on with the imlib packages.
If "imlib+png2" is simply recompiled against libpng12, then (apart from the
inaccurate source package name) there will be a libImlib.so.1 and a 
libImlib.so.11 which are effectively identical, coming from different (but 
nearly identical) source packages.  This can't be sane.
