Hi Jawahar, I'm pretty sure you didn't burned the CD correctly.
I just downloaded this ISO myself: http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian-cd/hppa/debian-7.0-hppa-NETINST-1.iso burned it on Linux with k3b to a CD-RW disc and then booted it from this CD-RW on a J5000 without problems. > > IPL error: bad LIF magic. Since you get this error, I expect you burned the CD wrongly. What you can try: Remove any CD from the drive, and then try to boot the machine without any disc, e.g. via "bo ide" In my case I then got error messages like IPL_ENTRY 00 00 00 000 00 00 <and so on>. This is different than your "bad LIF image" error message. So, with the "bad LIF image" error I assume the firmware did accessed your CD, but the contents on the CD were wrong. > Jawahar Panchal wrote: > > either a burn issue on the CD-RW Try another burning tool, and make sure you burn the ISO image file onto the disc as is. I mean, if you put in your newly burned CD and mount it on another machine (e.g. Windows/Linx) you should see the folders debian and a README file...
