Your article is good, though it might be a little bit too technical. Of course I like it more than the first one. Idealism is sth. that is crucial sometimes.
I'd prefer the term 'Uebersetzer'. Isn't it enough that we say 'Computer', 'Workstation', 'Random device' (or do you call it 'Zufallsgeraet', obviously it is not a 'Zufallsgenerator' since we don't call it 'random generating device'?), etc.? I'd like to expand this discussion to Hebrew, Czech and Mandarin ;-) BTW I say "der Hurd" since most things (how many of you are female ;) in the computing science are of the male sex.
