Ma davvero non ci hai pensato a
ssh root@@ilmioserver.org tar -Jcvf - > /backup/ilmioserver.org.tar.xz
(verifica che opzioni di compressione accetta tar su ilmioserver e la
tua macchina e scegli la più adatta. Credo che xz sia la più tosta)
