I just booted it again on the laptop, and I must say it was a little slow getting into the LXDE environment, but after maybe a minute, it got there. The LXDE world comes up on VT 7. I was able to get text consoles on VT1-VT6 (by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 etc), and at those consoles I see lots of logs in /var/log/ Are you able to access the text consoles, and do you see any logs there ?
