But even when there is a problem with this mode shipped _inside_ ocaml
would mean a new ocaml upload anyway.

I think it would be a good idea. And even a better idea for you since
you are not an Emacs user.
Are there any Ocaml users using this ocaml mode rather than the
Tuareg mode ?
