We have a /dev/klog, which wil be read by syslogd directly. Despite what I said, the Hurd will not have a seperate kernel logger. We use syslogd in GNU inetutils. So, you can talk about linux-kernel-log-daemon, if you mean a specific linux kernel logger which can make use of the System map files.
