In my experience this means that you're using llvm-softpipe, i.e.
software-rendering
and not hardware rendering. You may need to figure out whether acceleration is
supported
on this GPU.
The GPU is the same than on the venerable MacMini on which I tested an
installation years ago (Debian snapshot 2022-03-28 that had MESA
22.0.2). I remember I had no more hardware acceleration and the support
of this generation of GPUs was dropped. Looking at the MESA release
notes, we can find at https://docs.mesa3d.org/relnotes/22.0.0.html that:
- classic/r100: Delete driver
- classic/r200: Delete driver

Have you checked whether there are any known issues with Radeon on big-endian
systems?
I don't know the situation for the Radeon 9600/9700 ...
