Hi all, when running Sarge on my laptop, kernel 2.6.7-1-686 and alsa 1.0.5, I had no problem with this. But now I'm running Ubuntu Hoary, which uses 2.6.10-1-386 and alsa 1.0.8, and sound volume is unusable low. As you can see, all mixers are at 100% and unmuted:
