hi, remove all of X and start again (hopefully you have all the packages 
on your computer) use dpkg -i package-name to install them.  I did this 
about 20 different time and it works.  I don't use dselect, it is a waste 
of time.  If you have trouble or don't have the files on your computer 
then email me and we can work something out.  If you have any more 
trouble please email me.
