Apologies for replying to myself, but further down synaptics list is gstreamer0.8-lame. I know I'm not in Sarge at the moment, so can't check out if it's available there. It may be worth checking that you have no typo in /etc/apt/sources.list for the Marillat repo, and that the key is installed ok. Nigel.
