It would be better if you told us what you're trying to accomplish,
rather than asking us how to turn a $100-$1000 Linux PC with two or 3
NICs into a $10 ethernet switch.

Your description above sounds suspiciously like a NAT/router.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?  What is your goal here?  Are
you wanting to replace a Linksys/Netgear/etc broadband router with a
Linux box?  Tell us the goal and we'll tell you what you need to
accomplish it.
