Thanks, Andrei. That makes sense. So it is not a case of Debian having to do something because Ubuntu is doing it, but of co-operation. And Squeeze is not going to "come with" it. That was the weirdest bit from my point of view: that the present Stable was going to be changed to come in line with Ubuntu's future plans.
