Please do not top post as the list czars will start to throw a fit.

If it has UEFI it can not be that old then. I would try booting from Live
CD (KDE / GNOME) If you can get the live CD to boot and all the hardware
works you can install Debian from the live environment.

Is the USB you are trying to boot from a USB CD/DVD drive or a USB Thumb
Drive?
