I get that error quite frequently in the past ?couple of ?weeks/months. I just close the window and try again. It never happens a second time. > The only thing I can figure is a package is running an update when I > log on. For whatever reason, it seems to hold certain data files > hostage. That's very unlikely to be the case with my m.o. It only happens with my personal FF browser that I run as myself, and which I only use for financial, health, and government sites. Whenever I finish/logoff from whatever task I was doing, I open a new tab, close all the others (typically one/two), and then close said tab. And that would never be just before I close down, as first I would file any documents and screenshots in their appropriate directories, and then back them up (ie copy to my server) before going back to "normal" work. All my "regular" browsing is performed completely separately, as a different user, and that FF browser is never closed, but either killed (after a problem) with kill -1, or by killing Xwindows before I shut down the computer (no DE here). I've never seen this in-use file error on this "regular" browser. I've just assumed that someone will eventually fix this bug. Cheers, David.
