I should've used "time". Oh well. The point is, I got an answer, after an initial timeout followed by a retry. I'm using dnscache. If both you and I are seeing intermittent failures getting the PTR record pointing to bendel, that points to an issue somewhere in the DNS infrastructure used by Debian or by (one of?) its providers. A deeper investigation might be warranted.
