This is not very helpful, as you might understand :-) But one point: usually you don't install a specific kernel version, but just "linux-image-amd64" (or whatever your architecture is, I'll assume "amd64" judging from the above). Make sure to do "apt-get update" first. To further help diagnose the problem: could you show us the output of dpkg -l "linux-image*" ? Cheers -- t
