I would tend to agree, though with the additional detail that I can criticize their choices in doing so. With that said: how do you propose to ask questions on GitHub without doing any of those things? As far as I'm aware, the primary and possibly the only way to initiate communication with a maintainer via a GitHub repository is by opening an issue - and that contribution policy, as quoted (I haven't reviewed it again since the previous thread about this), states that handwritten issues will not be accepted; only AI-generated ones are welcome. The apparent titular maintainer's statements here on this mailing list do appear to indicate that that is not what the policy is *meant* to mean - but it is what the policy, as quoted, *says*. (And the clearest and most recent such statement also exempts "bug reports, feature requests, and discussion", even though bug reports and feature requests would *clearly* be filed as issues - which means that statement is in conflict with the statement in that policy document.) -- The Wanderer The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
