Okay, this, speaking personally, is not making sense to me, so let me set up things with more detail.
I am in the early stages of having a backup computer built.
Because I ssh into loads of things from DOS, giving thought to installing fredos on the machine, as it is a dell in the Intel 2 core family, a comment from a Linux user had me wondering if I could install Linux as a shell on a different hard drive. I would therefore access that shell like I do the one providing a vpn or the one for my employer. Only instead of using the machine I am typing on, I would basically ssh into the Linux drive from the freedos drive within the same box.
why would this not be possible?

Hi Karen: Sure managing a console is 1 thing, but while I could be wrong, I
don't think you can play multimedia over an ssh.
