Presumably you mean Netscape 4.77. It depends on old X library
packages whose functionality is replaced by new packages (with
different names) in Xfree86 v4.3. That said, I don't know whether
the issue is that the new libraries are in some way incompatible
with the old library calls (so that NS4 won't work with them);
or whether it's simply a reorganizing of package contents and
the NS4 packages don't know about the new packages (they don't
explicity satisfy NS4's dependencies) and the new packages
don't have "Provides:" fields covering the old libraries.
You could try going ahead with the updates, then re-installing
NS 4.77 by hand, telling dpkg to not worry about dependancies;
and then see if NS still works. Otherwise, I guess you gotta
choose between X 4.3 and NS 4.77.
