My experience is similar - Sniffer is very good, but not perfect, so I use it as part of a weighting scheme where Sniffer is weighted more heavily than the "standard" tests included with Declude.
We also use SpamManager from CyberSitter and have a weight of 8 on SpamManager and Sniffer. Other tests are set to a weight of 3 and we hold at 15. Using this, we catch about 95% of the spam and get virtually no false positives. The only thing that consistently gives us false positives is newsletter type Emails, typically from industry groups.
