Boy, tell me about it. We have been having this problem for a few weeks now.
The big problem is that we automatically send out serial numbers for our
software when users order on line. When the users don't get them, they call us
on the 800 number and generally ask a few other questions while they are at
it. We have had serial number calls turn into 30 minute calls all because of
this challenge/response business. I figure each one of these costs an average
of $18-$20. We are now getting between 5-8 per day. It adds up fast.
