In my spool folder this morning are a bunch of ".vir" folders with 1_1.exe in them. I have not encountered these before. What are they?
The \IMail\spool\*.vir directories are temporary directories that Declude Virus uses to scan attachments.
It is normal to see those directories come and go; if they remain for more than 2 hours, then there was a problem with the scanning (the log file would have more details). It is safe to delete those directories if they are more than 2 hours old.
