I just took the time to look through some archives (specifically

to hold my hand, but is there some documentation somewhere that
explains exactly how to use the grep, awk, and sort commands. I
noticed with the unxutils there are no man pages. Is there a way to
get these man pages??

The above URL should help you. I suppose some switches might be different, but probably they are all the same. (Some commands differ from platform to platform... like from OS X to BSD to Linux to Solaris and such...)
