Yes, it has been talked about. Hopefully, it can go further than talk.

Subject: Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Test suggestion

I requested the same thing about a month ago.  It would be a solid test with a high degree of certainty as long as you defeated the test for any E-mail containing non-inline attachments (as per the issue you pointed out).

Here's a link back to that discussion in the archive:

    http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg10746.html

I think the idea is to strip out all tags (fake and real), headers and boundaries from the unencoded message body and then do a character count, and only do so when there isn't an attachment (non-inline).  The test would look something like this the way I have it imagined:

    BODYCHARS    bodychars    100    x    2    0
    BODYCHARS    bodychars      50    x    3    0
    BODYCHARS    bodychars      25    x    3    0

In this case, the scoring would be progressive with the first number being a less than or equal to value, and an E-mail with only 25 regular characters would fail all three (user defined) tests in the example.

P.S. For those that have asked, I will be posting an updated version of the GIBBERISH filter tonight.

That will take care of 100% of JPG only emails..

As a photographer (part time for over 30 years...), I often send emails that
have a subject and an attached JPG or PSD file(s). I know I am not alone in
this method of sending image files!

But a weighted test would be very nice to add.
