Scott was talking about using Bind for the DNS purposes of the mail
servers. I have a question about that.
I'm in the process of testing and then rebuilding our secondary mail
server (currently running RedHat 8 with Sendmail; going to upgrade it to
White Box Enterprise Linux 3 running Sendmail and Bind). We were having a
problem with DNS timeouts when checking messages. When these time outs
would happen, the spam message were allowed to be delivered.
Anyway, should I setup Bind on the secondary mail server to just be
a caching server? Since I hope to only have the primary mail server setup
to use this DNS server, there shouldn't be any major problems with setting
it up as such, correct?
