I'm kind of befuddled with this one, but there is a directory on a
certain machine that I estimate has about 50,000 or more files on an IDE
hard drive and Windows 2003 will hang in Explorer when you try to delete
or open the directory from that interface, and I also tried the command
window and the DEL command with no luck either. I get a feeling that it
is timing out while enumerating the files and not even starting to
delete them. I tried searching for an answer on Google but couldn't
figure out a good phrase to match this condition. Any help would be
appreciated.
