"One troublesome technique finding favor with spammers involves sending mass mailings in the middle of the night from a domain that has not yet been registered. After the mailings go out, the spammer registers the domain early the next morning."

Interestingly, the main point of the article (that this technique wreaks havoc on DNS) is complete hogwash. I've informed the author of the article, and hope he posts a retraction.


As far as the technique is concerned, it really seems silly -- I can't see what benefit a spammer would have from doing this.
