I'm not sure if you got a message off-list in reply, but I think the general consensus is that this is difficult if not close to impossible to automate. If you have a text search and replace tool that can traverse directories (HomeSite for instance), you could probably just damage all of the attachments in one fail swoop.  Needless to say, most have probably been picked up by clients by now.  This is why everyone should layer their AV protection.
