We actually moved from Quad Sun V440s to the Supermicros for a weblogic/oracle application that we are running for a client.  The numbers range from 45-70% faster on actual throughput and 75+% on database operations.   We also brought our install base down from 45 servers to 30 with the Supermicros.   I’m pleased with it so far, but we are only about two months into the server change - I haven’t had any hardware issues yet so I can’t say how good their support is if something crashes.   - greg   From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Matt Sent: Tuesday, May 16, 2006 1:39 PM To: Declude.JunkMail@declude.com Subject: Re: [Declude.JunkMail] OT: Storage Server (NAS)   Just out of curiosity, have you benchmarked them against a dual Xeon system?  If so, any conclusions?  My read on things was that the performance of the single core Opteron's at 2.6 Ghz were +50% faster than a single core Xeon at 3.2 Ghz.
