Sharyn,
I am running the latest versions and have not been having any major issues
with it. The Decludeproc does crash on average 1-2 times per day for me,
but it restarts itself. I have the AutoReview option set to on which moves
the files placed on subsequent decludeproc restarts back into the proc
directory for processing. While this may open you up to a message that
constantly kills the decludeproc its not that bad of an issue since I use
QueueMon to monitor the decludeproc and spool folders in the event of a
backup.
I have not ran into any upgrade versions - it will continue to use your old
config files. Depending on how old your declude version is you may or may
not have to create a declude.cfg file and populate it with the correct data.
There have been a few new tests that have been introduced in the new
versions, but on my systems they are not real powerhouse tests. The nicest
test I think for the new versions is the msgsize test I use for
counterweighting.
If your looking to catch more spam the first thing I would do is
[1] Review your global.cfg to see exactly what tests you are using. Maybe
your missing some effective RBL's.
[2] Implement a content filtering tool like Sniffer / invURIBL those will
give you the best bang for the buck.
[3] Make sure your DNS servers are responding well - I have seen instances
where other folks I consult with had unknown DNS server issues which caused
a sig. rise in spam coming through.

Good morning,
I am still running an older version of Declude but it seems that it is not
really effective anymore.
We are getting tons of spam lately and I'm thinking about upgrading to the
newest version in hopes that this will help.
What is the newest version and are there issues with it? Putting aside all
the drama going on with the company itself, how is the software actually
working? Are there upgrade issues? Can I still use my old global.cfg and
just add the newer tests? Does it still work the same?
I am woefully out of the loop with this, due to other, more pressing
concerns.
Thanks in advance,
Sharyn
