The problem is most likely that the server was somehow set up so that short
filenames are no longer supported. You will need to switch it back. To do
so, the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisable8d
ot3NameCreation
registry needs to be set to 0 (the default setting) in order for Windows to
support the short file names.
