As to your problem, the best suggestion I can offer is that you
check out and join the "Association of Shareware Professionals" at
http://www.asp-shareware.org/ This group is there specifically to help
it's membership sell their products as shareware, and can provide you with
all sorts of information and discussion on marketing. The monthly
newsletter which always includes new shareware sites that will allow you to
sell your product direct is itself worth the annual membership fees, and the
newsgroup forums are frequented by many independent developers who have been
very successful at selling their work this way.

Fellow Delphinians,
Please forgive the off topic post but I am becoming a bit desperate.
Allow me to explain...
I have been spent the last couple of years writing software to make the
world of email a little more sane.
Unfortunately, the "build it and they will come" is not working.
As a result I have decided to attempt to get some marketing help.
The first step in this process is to do some market research.
Which brings us to the purpose of this email...
I have set up a short survey on the topic of email security at:

I have already pestered my friends and family but do not have enough
responses yet.
I would really appreciate it if you would take a second to answer a few
questions on the subject.
It doesn't matter if you don't know anything about email security, I am just
trying to get some information on what people think of the subject.
No personal information will be asked and no one will ask you to buy
anything.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to a more appropriate forum for this
sort of thing I would love to hear it.
