I disagree, Alan expressed a general political view without naming (much 
less attacking) anyone on the list personally.  Mark's comments were a 
direct personal attack on Alan for his views.

A lot, ever hear of an "ad hominem" argument?

IMO, economic or political discussion not directly related to Delphi or 
programming are indeed "off topic"; however I'd consider only personal 
attacks to be actually "out of line".
