Correct! And I'd also like to remind everyone that the Moderators,
( and I hope the rest of them don't consider ME out of line for saying this1
<g> ), realize how difficult it can be to stay exactly "on-topic" 100% of
the time, especially with a group of very passionate Delpinians like we have
here! Therefore we ALL must strive to show our respect for each other and
have tolerance for those things said that we may personally find
"politically incorrect"!
( That phrase always leaves a bad taste in my mouth...even when I
don't have to say it out-loud! <g> )
In addition to that Alan is a long time and well-respected member of
these lists since their inception, and many of us, most especially me, owe
him a great deal for his efforts to help us over some of the hurdles we've
faced. I don't say this to make him exclusive or favor him over others in
anyway, but to remind everyone that this is a community...not just a
roboticized list like so many others out there on the Web. And that alone
should be enough for all of us to be thankful for so that we needn't have to
be reminded continually or continue this thread any longer!

I disagree, Alan expressed a general political view without naming (much
less attacking) anyone on the list personally. Mark's comments were a
direct personal attack on Alan for his views.

A lot, ever hear of an "ad hominem" argument?

IMO, economic or political discussion not directly related to Delphi or
programming are indeed "off topic"; however I'd consider only personal
attacks to be actually "out of line".
YMMV
