I've been doing it for 11 years now, writing custom software for niche market without competition. Delphi is the best thing that ever happened to me, and i wouldn't trade it for the world. The only thing that scared me a while was when Borland announced that it was going to sell of it's development tools, in the end much ado about nothing but the namechange to codegear is my impression. My order wallet is filled until at least the end of year and then some. The only problem i have is that i have only two hands and ten fingers, and it's damn difficult as a one-man-band to make the step towards multiple developpers. I would need to find someone who fits a quite demanding profile, couldn't pay him enough in comparison to larger companies, i would still need to protect my own market, take on the responsability of a guaranteed order wallet, and so on ... The only option i'd probably consider is subcontracting, any of you out there with some time on your hands ?
