Now you are scaring me!My initial wise install just installs the complete BDE,
nothing else.  My app is usually a custom version and so is just copied onto the
client's machine.  I haven't had to fiddle with the Wise script to get the BDE
installed initially.
Can you give me some pointers as to what I need to watch out for to ensure that
I "merge any existing BDEConfig files correctly".

Are you saying here that instead of re-installing BDE5.10 (using Wise) that I
can merely distribute an Update Exe available from Borland that will take care
of the update for me?  Can you point me to documentation of this please?  Is
this an easier way to go?  Is it reliable?
