The UG on the Borland site is the whole kit and kaboodle - ie everything you
could ever attach to the BDE and/or SQL links etc etc.
With a wise or IS install you can deliver just the bits you want.
If other applications at your customers potentially use the BDE as well, to
be good corporate citizen, you should give them the lot so, unlike MS, you
don't break anyone else's stuff.

I have just looked at the BDE 5.01 upgrade self extracting file on the
Borland
page.
It is around 12 Mbytes.
A complete BDE 5.01 installation as created by the Wise installation
software
(from the copy of the BDE shipped with D5) is about 3.7Mbytes.
Why would I not use the latter? Is it to do with leaving existing BDE
configuration intact?
