Nic, don't be such a grumpy bugger!
John, if mapping a drive or using subst isn't possible, just copy everything
straight into C:\ and run it from there
Have you asked this question in the newsgroup borland.public.install.delphi
at forums.borland.com?
A quick search using deja.com, or (my personal favourite)
http://interbase.mers.com/searchsite.html reveals *lots* of responses to
this problem. I always search here first before posting to the list.
A sample includes:

-113 means you have a real mode CD driver. What you should do is comment out
the CD device driver from the config.sys and comment out the mscdex line
from
the autoexec.bat. Reboot. Win9x should find the CD and load protected mode
drivers that won't have problems. If it doesn't try the Hardware wizard to
see
if it finds it. If that doesn't work check out the website for your CD
amnufactuer for Windows drivers.
and
==> the error -113 indicates that the CD-ROM driver can't read long file
names (verify this by trying to read long filenames in the Runimage
folder). The D4 setup needs to be able to read long file names to
correctly install. Get the latest 32-bit driver from the manufacturer of
your CD-ROM.

They are Delphi SyMbol Files. They contain -- surprise! -- symbol
information for things like the class browser. They are large, yes,
and contain little practical utility. You probably selected Save
Symbol Information in your Environment Options. I suggest turning
that back off and saving a lot of disk space. The only thing you give
up, really, is the ability to use the Object Browser without compilng
your app.

But you might want to go and do your own search and read them all :-)
...or phone tech support 0800-442-132. The sooner you phone, the sooner
you'll get an answer!
Hope this helps!
