The winsock patch won't work as it is for 95 not 98. Uninstalling the proxy
client let ours apps run fine and IE could still browse the web. It was
suggested that without the proxy client on our particular setup the the
browser might not be able to run java/scripts, but this has yet to be
proven.
I'm sure that there must be a configuration file some where that you can set
the proxy client to ignore port 211.
Well will keep trying.
