Very true. I know a frightening about VB without having a "real" VB simply
because of MS Access. (Yes, Access sucks, but its still far faster than Delphi
for quick applications and its on everyones desktop so dont have installation hassles.
Delphi needs a grid built-in which approaches the ease-of-use of Access)
The other thing I notice time and again is that many people do find VB easier to
get started in than Pascal. They start with adding functions in excel or Access, get
used the basic syntax and slowly absorb the idiosyncrasies of language. I do not
find it natural at all but then ALGOL was first language. Once they have made the
leap to Delphi, then they find it nice but its a steep learning curve.
