I do agree with aaron here.
We have only had one problem with a clients DB install where they got a
power spike. But other than that, we have had no probs....which is the other
argument about not going to Linux....

we have NT servers here... The DB server has been shut down twice this year
oth times for software changes. We have even run the machine out of
diskspace
once... Our fileserver hasn't been shutdown this year.
The Servers are Windows NT 4.0 SP6a and the DB server is running ORACLE
8.0.4
I'm not a MS advocate - the fact that minor software option changes so often
require
a restart is pretty bad... But this should put NT stability in perspective -
it can be
