Do you mean FPK or Lazarus? The Lazarus project was written by looking at
what TForm and TButton provided and did, and written around the low level
widgets to do what it needs. Nothing wrong in that I see, i.e. TButton
has a .Caption - it calls setText().
As for the FPK compiler, who knows, its been around for a long time, and
afaik it's all legal code.
