SGI would be the only one I can think of with balls for that. However, I doubt
any of the manufacturers want the function level that they are allowed to provide
be set by MS. The opengl extension mechanism allows developers to fast-track
use of new whizzies in the hardware which is where their competitive advantage
lies.

I also have huge investment in Glscene and went Opengl route because of the
pressure to port to Linux.
