If only it was that simple, 30 years ago the NZ/US ex rate was about 2 which shows how much we have slipped. I realise this is off topic but as long as we persist with a zealous socialist egalitarian government that would happily flog off anything to fund its experiments (which seem to alternately consist of chuck money at anyone who begs whilst guilting the tax payers into paying more tax) then overseas investors will happily buy chunks of NZ

Half of me (my Tangata whenua side ) is looking forward to the future when not only Maori but all NZ'ers
become guests in our own country.

At least a higher exchange rate means we get a better quality of beads and blankets for our land

Neven (PS it is friday)
Heh.

And here was me thinking it was due to the highest interest rates in the
Western World... ;-)

"It must be worth 80c US at the moment due to the excellent state of the economy."

I thought I might add my 10c (1/2/5 what has happened to our
currency?!)

It has become so overvalued and full of itself that it will not
acknowledge such derisory amounts.

cheers,
peter
