I jumped from D5 to BDS2006 and D2007, I kept my D5 source separate in case I had to go back because of problems with any program. I can honestly say I never compiled another program with D5 after I switched. Same with D2006 to D2007.
IDE is much richer in D2007 - stable enough (overall better than d5 or d2006). Code insight/refactoring/XP-Vista themes/Debugging/component alignment guides that appear as you move them around. I would not live without them. D2007 help is much improved over 2006, although the MS Document explorer can be painfully slow when after quick answers. But I also have D5 help in the tools menu and Google, and Delphibasics, for fast lookups. I have noticed odd problems with tab indenting getting lost/edit text or label captions not being highlighted when I click on them in the OE (typing does nothing)/components shifting on the form sometimes when clicked on/having to look up detailed notes everytime I want to add a component into the IDE (hehe that's nowhere in the help, but I have Steve Trefethens notes and mine). Overall all minor problems. But fix them all the same eh guys?
