I tried that, but its too high up. I am connecting to an existing
server which just wants strings. Whereas the indy stuff wants commands.

Seems that the whole caboodle is too far up the food chain. Also with
so many variations between versions, the stuff I have googled makes no
sense at all.
I am trying to use D2007, I can use D2010 if required.
