Thanks allot Cosmin; you gave me a bunch of good ideas.
Now some comments:

1. > Vista is considered safer then Mac.

I know. And I like it to hear it again. In the past I was so against
Microsoft and their pity operating system, but since 2000/XP, I am
really on their side. I even deleted my Linux partition(s). I think
Linux is now far behind Windows when speaking about GUI and maybe when
speaking about vulnerabilities.

2. > Take a look at Microsoft's "designed for Windows" logo
certification requirements.

Do you have a link?

3. > But hey, aren't users working on limited accounts so they CAN'T
install stuff that has not been approved and tested by administrators?

Ok. Your logic is good, but the logic does not apply always to reality :)
I don't know and I don't care why my users don't have administrator
rights (maybe because they are employs of big companies with strict
security policy?).
I just know they ARE downloading my software (maybe when the
administrator is at lunch) and use it.

Also is know that the administrators are even lazy than normal users and
the will not move their lazy ass to the user's computer to poke in the
'secret' password every time the users is in the mood of installing a
new software (and I have few confirmations for this).
So I must do everything possible to please my users.
When they like my program they purchase it. Then the users force the
admin to install the program 'for real' in their computers.
But until then, the program must run under any conditions (and it did
until Vista).

As I said, I don't use an installer (actually I am using WinRAR as
installer but this is not a real installer) and I don't really need one.
The only thing that is really not working on Vista (but worked on XP) is
associating the program with some file types (like *.SQ).
I don't know if it will be possible to do this anymore without having
administrator rights. This is an important feature for my users because
1) they are not advanced users (not even medium) and 2) they have to
process hundreds or thousands of files per day, files that are spread in
many many folders with difficult names (name of the folder is generated
by a machine) and that must be 'mixed' together.

Thanks again
Cubic
