I don't qualifiy as a serious developer, but I can tell you that the Help system is still seriously broken. D2007 itself seems to be very stable, and there are no reports of major bugs if you listen around the newsgroups. Personally, I'd recommend it, if you can live with that appalling joke of a Help system.
